The School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences was created in August 2017 bringing together sport and exercise sciences, physiotherapy, sports therapy and related activity. This presents exciting opportunities for new interdisciplinary collaborations and partnership working with external agencies including a range of health practitioners.
We are seeking to appoint a Practice Educator in Sports Therapy to contribute to the BSc programme.
Duties of the Role
You will contribute to the delivery of the BSc Sports Therapy by supervising, teaching and assessing students in the on-site clinic.
Duties will include contributing to excellence in education by designing and delivering, effective teaching, and providing learning support at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, assist in meeting both practice and education needs of the learner who is under the supervision of registered health care professionals and educators and liaise with all members of the team, and named persons within the practice setting to assure students are supported in the workplace.

Qualifications and Skills required
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate subject and will have Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, or the ability to gain professional recognition at this or a higher level if appropriate. In addition, you will be a Member of The Society of Sports Therapists or an equivalent professional body.
Experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, or demonstrable potential to engage, relevant professional experience and/or practice in the field of sports therapy and strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to effectively communicate with members of the health service team in a range of situations are essential.
