The Role and DutiesA fantastic opportunity has arisen for a permanent, full-time Cyber Security Specialist to advise and deliver the best technological information security solutions at the University of Essex - a world class University with outstanding teaching (Teaching Excellence Framework - Gold) and ground-breaking research.Qualifications and SkillsThe successful applicant will have the technical expertise to deal with a broad range of cyber security threats and be able to provide guidance to enable business and system owners and individuals to meet their information security responsibilities. With substantial experience of systems design and administration within a large organisation, the post holder will have a proven track record in improving cyber security through security architecture, systems and controls.Excellent communication skills will be required to enable you to explain technological concepts to all audiences and at times influence others including senior managers. You will have highly developed analytical skills, as well as a degree and CISSP or equivalent, problem solving abilities and strive to continually improve the customer experience.The post is based in Colchester but the Cyber Security Specialist's responsibilities apply to the entire University: all campuses, all parts of the University's organisational structures, and all members.At the University of Essex internationalism is central to who we are and what we do.
