School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences (SRES) The School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences was created in August 2017 bringing together sport and exercise sciences, physiotherapy, sports therapy and related activity. This presents exciting opportunities for new interdisciplinary collaborations and partnership working with external agencies including a range of health practitioners.
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Physiotherapy to complement the existing staff and contribute to the three very successful pre-registration physiotherapy degrees, including a new apprenticeship programme. Applicants should have experience in a variety of settings and specialities as they will be required to support teaching across the breadth of the curriculum.
Duties of the Role
The post-holder will contribute to the delivery of learning and teaching within the School, and for ASER contracts, through the establishment of an internationally excellent research programme, the publication of high-quality research papers and the development of innovative teaching methods.
Duties will include engaging effectively in substantive teaching and learning support roles in the School, supervising student projects, fieldwork and placements and incorporating subject and undertake leadership duties related to education (and research for G9 ASER) appropriate to career stage as may be reasonably required.
In addition, for Grade 9 ASER contracts, you will develop a research agenda, which pursues individual and/or collaborative research objectives and produce research outputs for publication.

Qualifications and Skills required
The successful candidate will hold a relevant doctoral level research degree or have equivalent professional experience or practice and will be registered as a Physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council.
Experience of (contributing to for G8 ASE) designing and planning learning activities, developing effective learning environments and approaches to student/client support and guidance; experience in a variety of sports therapy settings and with a range of client groups; and strong communication skills, both written and verbal are all essential for this post.
In addition, for ASER contracts, you will have a clear publication plan for submission to future Research Excellence Framework (REF) programmes and evidence of a research agenda, engagement in high-quality research activity and a developing research profile.
