Essex Business School is the largest academic department at the University of Essex and is located on two of its Campuses - at Colchester and Southend.
Role and DutiesEssex Business School is looking to appoint an Academic Services Officer. We want someone who is proactive with exceptional organisational and problem solving skills to join our team.
You will have specific responsibility for the School's Academic Services Taught Team. You will be responsible for leading, managing and developing a high-quality and efficient professional services team with a commitment to providing the highest levels of service delivery.
Duties will include acting as the School's primary Timetabling Officer for the Colchester Campus; being responsible with the Student Services Supervisor for the accurate provision of information to students; coordinating academic components of the School's annual calendar of events across both Campuses; and advising the Academic Services Manager on the effectiveness of academic services and procedures within the Taught team and make recommendations for implementing change.
Qualifications and Skills requiredCandidates are expected to hold a good first degree or an equivalent qualification and/or experience.
You will be an excellent communicator who has experience of managing and motivating a team. You will thrive on working in a busy environment and will have the ability to develop strong working relationships with both academic and professional services colleagues. You will have proven, extensive high level administrative experience in a challenging and complex role along with excellent IT and leadership skills.
This post is primarily based at our Colchester campus, but occasional attendance will be scheduled at Southend Campus to support personal, team and School development activities.
