Estate Management design, repair, maintain and secure all campuses. We aim to provide a seamless service to all students, staff and visitors. Covering a multitude of services, we are available to assist with any issue concerning the University estate and grounds.
The section are now looking to appoint a Building Surveyor.
Duties of the Role
The successful candidate will manage the University’s building surveying and maintenance functions consisting of a high volume of responsive and planned maintenance items, maintenance projects and direct labour force to ensure high level of productivity and competence.
You will assist at a strategic level in the development, management and delivery of the University’s Master Long Term Maintenance Programme and recurrent revenue programmes whilst providing senior management supervision of the University’s building structure, fabric and fittings infrastructure, working in coordination with the nominated asset support functions and mechanical/electrical colleagues.

Skills and qualifications required
You will have a professional Building Surveying qualification and hold corporate membership of either the Chartered Institution of Building or similar as well as holding a degree in Building Surveying or similar vocational qualification.
You will be able to demonstrate experience of working at a senior strategic level in design, implementation and management of building structure, maintenance and refurbishment in a large complex building environment and have detailed knowledge of constructional and maintenance regimes covering a broad range of building types covering structure/fabric/fittings. The ability to manage a large and diverse team in an effective and constructive manner and have effective communication skills across a broad range of platforms and audiences are essential for this post.
