The University is going through an exciting period of strategic international partnership development which Essex Abroad, within the Academic Section, is playing a key role in supporting.
Duties of the Role
Essex Abroad is looking to appoint an innovative, professional and internationally minded Essex Abroad Advisor to help achieve the University's goal to enable at least 20% of Undergraduate students to have an international experience by graduation. The main areas of responsibility relate to the coordination of all forms of student mobility for a designated region or set of countries. This will include coordination of the programme administration of students for all forms of student mobility programmes including Erasmus+ Study Abroad, ISEP, and short-term international experience activities and provision of information, advice, guidance and pastoral care and monitoring of students.
Skills and Qualifications required
The role of Essex Abroad Advisor would suit those with a customer focus, excellent organisational administration and planning skills, attention to detail and high standards of accuracy. The duties of the post are varied and wide-ranging, and as you will be responsible for providing high quality information, advice and guidance support, your public speaking skills will be a significant asset.
The successful candidate will be an effective team player, who is proactive, self-motivated, flexible and able to deal with rapidly changing situations. You will need to able to develop and manage relationships at all levels within the University, and with our international partners. You will possess excellent administration and IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook. You should also have the ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining close attention to detail with a calm and professional manner. Typically, you will have experience of working in the UK higher education sector, and personal experience of studying or working abroad as a university student.
