Duties and responsibilities
As part of your position as Team Clean Senior Cleaner, you will be responsible for cleaning and preparation of various areas in the academic and associated buildings. When deputising for the Supervisor, you will be responsible for various leadership duties such as coordinating the work of the cleaning team, undertaking quality control inspections, and collating monthly stores orders for the cleaning team.
In response of the current Covid-19 pandemic, extra safety measures have been implemented to ensure we are protecting our staff, students and wider community. If successful, you will complete a mandatory health declaration and a risk assessment before starting work. You will also be required to adhere to wearing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment, as guided by your line manager.
Skills and qualifications
You must have the ability to undertake domestic cleaning to a high standard with good communication skills, a positive attitude to delivering good customer service and a flexible approach to work. You will ideally have an understanding of any Health and Safety information and guidance, in order to carry out the safe use of chemical and equipment, however this is not essential as training will be provided. You will ideally have experience of leading a team.
It is important that you are able to undertake physical aspects of the post, and can fulfil the staff vetting requirements in respect of the University Positions of Trust. You will have a flexible and positive approach to work, with a professional manner.
Working Pattern
Appointment to this post will be made on a part-time (15 hours per week) permanent basis, the current working pattern being Saturday and Sunday 5.30am - 1.45pm, however in the interests of working efficiency the University may from time to time review current working patterns. Hours may be required to be worked within the operational window of 5.15am to 9pm, 5 days in 7 days. Changes to working patterns resulting from this will be subject to a minimum of 21 calendar days’ notice.
