Essex Business SchoolThis is an exciting opportunity to join the newly established Management and Marketing Group at Essex Business School in the field of General Management or Marketing as either a Senior Lecturer or Reader. The group already has more than 15 research active members, consisting of budding as well as world-leading researchers with an international reputation for its cutting edge research in the fields of brand management, sustainability, social enterprise, critical management & marketing and consumer behaviour.

The Role and DutiesThe purpose of this post is to enhance the School's research profile and to both contribute to and lead in developing the field of management and/or marketing; to develop and actively engage in undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) teaching and supervision; and to extend the school's profile regionally, nationally and internationally through collaboration with other institutions.
Duties will include offering leadership with regards to the PG programme portfolio of the group; undertaking independent research in the field of marketing and/or operations management with the aim of publishing in high ranking journals (AJG 3* and 4* level) and contributing to the School's REF submission; and contributing to teaching a range of different full time and short courses and degree schemes, at all levels, including new developments and modes of delivery. The post-holder will also be expected to undertake a range of administrative duties.
Qualifications and SkillsApplicants should have a PhD in Management, Marketing or other specialism related to the area of the post, evidence of research output in top journals of peer-reviewed international quality and experience of teaching in the area of management and/or marketing, or demonstrable potential for achieving this.
In addition, for the position of Reader, it is essential that applicants have a proven track record of raising research funds and managing research projects, whilst this is desirable for those applying for a Senior Lectureship. Those applying at the Reader level must also be able to demonstrate a significant research portfolio to include a well-established track record of publications in leading refereed journals, research funding from a variety of sources and capability for dissemination to different audiences for research.
