Soft FM Services are responsible for cleaning and portering services to the university’s academic, administrative and residential estate. Soft FM facilitates all university key events, such as graduation and open days and ensures areas are prepared for other events such as receptions and summer conferences.
Duties of the role
As part of your position as Team Clean Supervisor, you will lead, manage and motivate Soft FM operational staff to provide a quality customer focused service to the academic and residential estate, ensuring that Soft FM Services are delivered and maintained to the highest standards. You will also be responsible for accurate completion of departmental statutory paperwork.
In response of the current Covid-19 pandemic, extra safety measures have been implemented to ensure we are protecting our staff, students and wider community. If successful, you will complete a mandatory health declaration and a risk assessment before starting work. You will also be required to adhere to wearing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment, as guided by your line manager.
38 hours per week to be worked as required within the operational window of 5.00am - 8.00pm (Mon-Fri) and 5.00am – 2.00pm (Sat and Sun), 5 days in 7 days.
You will be required to participate in an out of hours call rota, this would be one week in twelve as a maximum. For further information regarding on call rota please click here.
Skills and qualifications
In order to be successful, you must have experience of managing team(S) of semi-skilled staff in a customer focused environment, and knowledge of Health and Safety legislation relating to cleaning materials and working practises. Previous cleaning experience is desirable.
You will have excellent communication skills, and have the ability to manage the performance of staff effectively.
It is important that you are able to undertake physical aspects of the post, and can fulfil the staff vetting requirements in respect of the University Positions of Trust. You will have a flexible and positive approach to work, with a professional manner.
