Essex Business School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Organisation Studies. This is an exciting opportunity to join leading international scholars in the areas of Human Resource Management and Organisation Studies. If successful, you will join the Group’s Centre for Work, Organization and Society, working alongside a team of twenty research active colleagues with a global reputation for their research in the fields of critical organisation studies, the sociology of work, workplace equality and diversity, and HRM.

Duties of the Role
This appointment will enhance the educational and research profile of both the Organisation Studies and Human Resource Management Group, and Essex Business School, as a leading national and international centre for research and education in the field of work and organisation studies.
As a talented and established social scientist in the field of OS you will play a contributing role in enhancing the research profile of both the Group and the School, as well as providing both an exceptional educational experience for our students, and inclusive academic and administrative leadership to colleagues.
You will engage contribute to excellence in education by designing and delivering substantive and effective teaching and learning support, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; engage in individual and/or collaborative research activity (resulting in internationally excellent publications) that is in keeping with REF criteria; and generate external research funding, including in collaboration with colleagues, appropriate in scale to career stage and subject area norms.

Qualifications and Skills required
Applicants should hold a relevant doctoral level research degree in a relevant Social Science discipline, or equivalent professional experience or practice or be close to completion of PhD studies.
You should have experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, or demonstrable potential to achieve this. In addition, you will have evidence of a research agenda, engagement in high-quality research activity and a developing research profile with a clear publication plan for submission to future Research Excellence Framework (REF) programmes.
This is a permanent, full-time post on an ASER (teaching and research) contract.
