School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences (SRES) The School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences was created in August 2017 bringing together sport and exercise sciences, physiotherapy, sports therapy and related activity. This presents exciting opportunities for new interdisciplinary collaborations and partnership working with external agencies including a range of health practitioners.
The University of Essex has expanded its facilities for sports performance, research and education with the opening of a new facility in January 2018. As part of this development, the School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences is investing significantly in new research and teaching provision.
We are therefore seeking to appoint two Lecturers in exercise physiology.

You will supervise postgraduate research students and carry out such teaching and administration duties as requested by the Head of School.
Duties will also include engaging in individual and/or collaborative research activity (resulting in internationally excellent publications) that is in keeping with REF criteria and generating external research funding, including in collaboration with colleagues, appropriate in scale to career stage and subject area norms.
A full list of duties and responsibilities can be found within the job pack attached.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant doctoral level research degree in exercise physiology or related area or be close to completion of PhD, or have equivalent professional experience or practice and will have Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, or the ability to gain professional recognition at this or a higher level if appropriate.
