We take an innovative and creative approach to our work and are at the forefront of new and best practice in communications, marketing, and stakeholder and customer service.Duties of the RoleWe are looking to make a part-time appointment in Communications and External Relations for an Administrative Assistant. The post holder will provide excellent administrative support; undertaking a wide range of administrative duties to a dedicated team within CER, and more generally across the section. Responsibilities will include covering the University's visitor reception and main switchboard on a rota basis, raising purchase orders, arranging meetings and assisting with event management and managing accurate records onto University databases.Skills and qualifications requiredThe successful candidate will hold a minimum of 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) grade A-C including in English and Mathematics and will have previous experience of working in an administrative role within a busy environment.You will be highly motivated with strong IT skills and have the ability to use your own initiative in a role which covers a variety of duties working both individually and as part of a team. Managing multiple priorities and having excellent organisational, communication and customer service skills are essential for this post.Please note the hours of this post are 21 hours per week, split across 5 days.At the University of Essex internationalism is central to who we are and what we do.
