Set in the peaceful surroundings of Wivenhoe Park on our Colchester Campus, we have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and qualified Nursery Chef to join our friendly and diverse team at the Day Nursery.
Duties of the Role
Responsibilities will include; planning nutritious, seasonal and varied food for our children, manage food ordering and stock, minimise waste, maintain and adhere to departmental and University Compliance and H&S policies at all times,
The hours of work are 38 hours per week, operational time is Monday – Friday between 7am and 6pm.
Skills and qualifications required
We are looking for candidates that are passionate about cooking healthy and nutritious meal in an early years setting and value the benefits of a well-balanced diet for young children.
You will have a minimum of 2 years catering training leading to a culinary qualification or equivalent experience in an early years setting. Sound knowledge of allergen and dietary requirement is essential.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and will have good communications skills, with the ability to build relationships with children, parents and staff alike.
They will be knowledgeable and confident in managing and implementing Food Safety and follow H&S policy and compliance
