We aim to provide a seamless service to all students, staff and visitors.Covering a multitude of services, we are available to assist with any issue concerning the University estate and grounds.We are looking for a Senior Space Planner to join our Maintenance and Capital Development team to lead a small team in providing innovative solutions in accommodation terms to growth and accommodation re-modelling.Duties of the RoleThis strategic level post will develop the University's Space Management Policy and implement processes relating to the review and implementation of corporate accommodation/ investment strategy; providing innovation solutions to accommodation issues and growth. You will lead on client engagement in support of developing and enhancing client spaces and also lead on the development of corporate space standards.Responsibilities will include maintaining and developing a strategic overview of all space planning, assisting with the development of minor works revenue programmes, effectively appointing and managing consultancy services and preparing regular project management and programme reports on progress, compliance, budget and briefing objectives.Skills and qualifications requiredThe successful candidate will have had training or hold a qualification in AUTOCAD or a similar computer aided design software and will have a demonstrable track record at strategic level in the design, implementation and management of minor works programmes, processes and procedures. You will have experience as well in the management of capital and revenue projects covering small but complex projects.Experience in stakeholder/ client engagement and management across a diverse portfolio including effective management of customer expectations is essential for this post, along with the ability to assimilate high volume and complex data and the ability to communicate effectively across a broad range of platforms and audiences.At the University of Essex internationalism is central to who we are and what we do.
