Library Services at the University of Essex provides high quality, user-focused services to support the learning, teaching and research needs of the University.
Duties of the Role
We are seeking a graduate trainee to undertake a wide range of tasks including assisting with information literacy and Library induction sessions, dealing with enquiries and providing support for library users in accessing and using facilities and equipment. The successful candidate will also provide support for acquisitions and cataloguing of library materials and contribute to student engagement, information literacy and other projects as part of a team. As this is a trainee post, opportunities to visit other academic libraries in the region and to attend relevant training and development events will be provided.
Skills and Qualifications required
Applicants have a degree or equivalent qualification and should demonstrate good interpersonal, communication and IT skills, the ability to work on a variety of tasks without close supervision, and an understanding of and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
