We seek a highly skilled programmer with an extensive background in language technology to support a project funded by the European Research Council on using games to collect datasets to support research in computational linguistics.Advanced programming skills are required for this role and familiarity with web development and game technology would be an advantage. The research engineer is expected to have excellent interpersonal skills, and an interest in working in a research environment.The successful candidate should hold a first degree in computer science, natural language processing or a related discipline.This post is fixed term until December 2021 and is based at our Colchester campus.At the University of Essex internationalism is central to who we are and what we do.
