Wivenhoe House Hotel
Wivenhoe House Hotel, a 4 star country house hotel is currently recruiting for a Demi Chef De Partie.
Following an extensive, GBP 11million refurbishment five years ago, this is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring chef to join our team in a busy and challenging environment which includes 40 bedrooms, an 80 cover modern Brasserie and
120 cover banqueting facilities.
The Role and Duties
The post-holder will assist and support in the preparation and production of high quality food products. The successful candidate will be part of a large brigade of chefs working in our Brasserie and Signature's Kitchens and also mentoring students of the Edge Hotel School as part of their Hospitality Management Degree.
You will work closely with the Food and Beverage team to enhance product knowledge, and assist with planning and pricing of menus. You will be responsible for mis en place for any day to day corporate functions, events, parties, weddings and also full restaurant service. You will also be required to undertake the occasional breakfast shift, much of which is cooked to order, as part of the role.
Qualifications and Skills required
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience as a Chef at a similar level, and preferably will hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Professional Cookery.
Knowledge of COSHH and previous experience of organising, prioritising and managing a kitchen section are both essential requirements.
