Applications are invited for an Executive Officer / Project Administrator to assist the Project Coordinator, Dr. Neli Demireva on a new, exciting collaborative research project "GEMM: Growth, Equal Opportunities, Migration and Markets" (as part of the Horizon 2020 programme of the European Commission, "EURO-2-2014: The European growth agenda Research and Innovation action 4: Migration, prosperity and growth"). This project addresses the challenges and barriers that European countries face in managing the mobility of persons to realize competitiveness and growth.
Duties of the RoleThe post will be primarily held in the Department of Sociology, University of Essex and the administrator will contribute to a range of duties such as arranging internal and external project meetings, liaising with the EU to arrange mid-term review meetings; liaising with the project funding body; processing financial claims from partner organizations; ensuring timely submission of reports; and website content management and maintenance.
Qualifications and Skills requiredApplicants are required to hold educational qualifications to A-level standard (or equivalent), whilst a Business Administration qualification is desirable but not essential.
Successful candidates will have previous experience of financial management, of preparing budgets and accounting. They would have experience as a senior administrator. Experience with EU funded projects or coordination is desirable. A proven record of organizing and managing events, of establishing and maintaining systems for managing files and records is also essential.
This post is fixed-term, part-time for 18 hours per week until the end of August 2018 when the project comes to an end. Ideally this appointment will start from 1 March 2018, or as soon after.
