Duties of the RoleEssex Food is looking to recruit enthusiastic Catering Assistants to join our busy catering team. We are looking for dynamic and outgoing people who have a real passion for food and customer service, to assist with food preparation and delivery, till work and general catering duties.
Responsibilities will also include operating catering equipment and ordering of stock via stores. You will also be required to take an active part in unit sales promotions.
Appointment to these posts will be made on a permanent, full-time basis (38 hours per week) on a weekly rota, to be worked as required within the working operational window of 7.00am - 11.00pm, 5 days in 7 days. Please note that these contracts are for term-time only, working 28 weeks per year.
Skills and qualifications requiredThe successful candidate will have previous experience within the service industry, experience of basic food preparation and an awareness of hygiene standards and the ability to maintain these standards.
You must possess excellent communication skills, have a passion for food and enjoy working as a part of a team with a "can do "approach to work.
To comply with Health and Safety regulations, any offer of employment will be made subject to satisfactory University Food Handling health clearance by the University Occupational Health service.
