East 15 Acting SchoolEast 15 Acting School is a top-ranked conservatoire school which consistently scores over 90% for student satisfaction in the National Student Survey 2017. A member of the Federation of Drama Schools, courses in Southend include: BA Acting and Community Theatre; BA Acting and Stage Combat; BA Acting and Physical Theatre; BA World Performance; Cert HE in Acting; and our new programme, BA Creative Producing (Theatre and short film).Duties of the RoleThe successful candidate will be expected to engage effectively in substantive teaching and learning support roles in the Department; design, plan and deliver learning across a range of modules in creative and innovative ways appropriate to the subject area and level and to participate in knowledge exchange activity. You will work with specialist skills tutors on acting and production projects, along with assisting with auditions as and when required.In addition, you will supervise student projects, fieldwork and placements and collaborate with colleagues on course development and curriculum changes.A full list of key responsibilities and main duties (Education, Research and Leadership and Citizenship) can be found within the job pack.Skills and qualifications requiredThe successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant area or equivalent professional experience or practice and will have fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or the ability to gain professional recognition at this.
You will have substantial experience in teaching in a Conservatoire environment, or demonstrable potential to engage in teaching and learning support in engaging and innovative ways, along with a sustained engagement in continuing professional development in relevant subjects/disciplines and their pedagogies.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are essential for this post, along with experience of teaching applied Stanislavsky and the ability to teach acting in a flexible and responsive way.
