Academic SectionThe Academic Section is part of the University's Professional Services and is headed by the Academic Registrar. The Section is responsible for managing all aspects of student and academic administration and plays a central role in delivering the University's commitment to excellence in education across the University. As part of the Academic Section, Essex Abroad manages and coordinates a range of internationalisation initiatives across the University; including management of the student and staff mobility schemes; strategic level visits to and from the University; International Visiting Fellowships and supporting the University's engagement with the Young European Research Universities Network (YERUN) and EU funded education development projects.Duties of the RoleEssex Abroad is looking to appoint an innovative, dynamic and highly motivated International Collaborations Manager, for a one year fixed term contract, to coordinate the work of a team of professional staff working to support the University's internationalisation agenda. Specific areas of work include:* Study Abroad marketing & recruitment* Bilateral mobility agreement processes* Coordination of strategic level visits to and from the University* Operational coordination of the mobility grant budgets* The development of international short-term programmes * Developing and delivering the annual Essex Abroad events* Providing leadership to direct reportsSkills and qualifications requiredThe duties of the post are varied and wide-ranging, and as you will be responsible for providing high quality information, advice and guidance support, your networking and communications skills will be a significant asset. As the successful candidate, you will be a proven proactive, self-motivated team leader, with excellent organisational and planning skills, high standards of accuracy, a flexible approach to work and the ability to deal with rapidly changing situations. The role requires strong communication and organisational skills, you will need to be able to develop and manage relationships at all levels within the University, and international partners. You should possess good data analysis and IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook and it is essential that you have experience of student recruitment and or marketing in a higher education setting along with having experience in leading an effective team.Typically, you will have experience of working in the UK higher education sector, and previous experience working in the international higher education field. The post may involve some UK and / or international travel.
