We have an academic post available at Lecturer/Senior Lecturer level to expand our team in the area of land law or equity and trusts.Duties of the Role
This post combines teaching, research and academic administration. The focus of the post is on teaching undergraduates in land law and/or equity and trusts contributing to our core LLB English law modules. You will also be assigned an administration role within the School. You will produce high quality and impactful research outputs. We encourage collaborative and multi-disciplinary research projects. You will have clear plans and demonstrable ability to produce high quality scholarly work suitable for REF2021.At Senior Lecturer level, the role would include taking on a more senior leadership/administrative role within the School and mentorship of junior colleagues. You will also engage in greater research leadership, demonstrating a strong record of high-quality research publications and generating impact. Please indicate in application form whether you are applying for Lecturer or Senior Lecturer.Skills and qualifications requiredYou will have, or be near to completion, of a PhD or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge (for example proven research publications track record suitable for inclusion in the REF), including evidence of the ability to author high-quality scholarly work suitable for REF submission. You will have subject expertise in Land Law or Equity and Trusts (or related sub-fields) and experience of teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. For the Senior Lecturer post you will also need to demonstrate a strong record of high-quality, REF submissible research publications, a well-established research agenda, the ability to attract research funding and manage research projects, to generate impact from research, demonstrable experience of successful supervision of PhD students and a record of successful performance of administrative duties.At the University of Essex internationalism is central to who we are and what we do.
