We are looking a Business Analyst to join Digital Innovation and Technology Services (DITS) to support the delivery of key system enhancement projects at the University of Essex. This is a fixed-term post for 12 months with the possibility of this becoming a permanent role at the end of this fixed-term period. Both full- and part-time applications will be considered.
The Strategic Project Delivery team provides project support to all departments and professional services across the university. The team includes Project Managers, Business Analysts and continuous improvement expertise. This is an opportunity to be part of this dynamic team getting involved in many different projects, working with a diverse group of stakeholders including academics, technical experts and students. There is a great variety of work being managed by the team at any given time including technical solution projects, process change projects and large strategic programmes helping to drive forward the University’s Strategic Plan. This is an exciting time to join the team as we build on amazing work undertaken to date and drive forward new and emerging initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills required
The successful candidate will have excellent Business Analysis experience, preferably within a digital transformation environment and will have comprehensive experience of applying a wide range of business analysis tools and techniques.
With the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels and be confident at communicating and resolving conflict, you will be able to carry out systems and process analysis, deliver requirements elicitation workshops and conduct end-user interviews harnessing online collaboration tools to effectively support hybrid working. Well versed in producing appropriate requirements documentation with a high degree of accuracy and articulation, you will be experienced in analysing requirements and be able to present these using a range of tools and techniques such as: requirements specifications, business processes, system and data maps; AS-IS/TO-BE states for processes, use cases and data models and test specification, design and process including UAT and requirements validation.
