The DepartmentThe UK Data Archive (UKDA) is an internationally acknowledged centre of expertise in acquiring, curating and providing access to social science and humanities data.We are seeking a dynamic and forward-looking individual to oversee the UKDA strategic, business and operational activities. This Associate Director position offers a great opportunity to provide both leadership and strategic management for the department's Resources and Management Services (RMS) Section. Duties of the RoleYou will be responsible for the development and delivery of the RMS functions of the UK Data Archive that includes financial, project and human resources planning. Working alongside a team of Associate Directors, you will provide high-level support to the UK Data Archive's Director in the strategic delivery of data and research-related services.Duties will include leading the UKDA's resource management function and support the planning, development and implementation of policy decisions, business and organisational development, strategic planning and resource (including human resource) management.Skills and qualificationsAs a senior member of the UKDA, you must be able to demonstrate a record of success in a relevant senior leadership and management role. You will also need experience in strategic planning, financial forecasting, human resources and external project planning. Excellent communication skills are essential to communicate organisational vison and effectiveness to many audiences, including UK Data Archive staff, the rest of the University and external, influential stakeholders. A higher degree or relevant professional qualification or equivalent relevant experience is also essential.This is a full-time permanent position. The UK Data Archive is ISO 27001 certified for Information Security Management.
