Please note this post is open to internal applicants only.Applications are invited from current academic members of staff appointed to the post of Lecturer or above.The Progress and Assessment Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the Deputy Dean Education with student cases for departments within the Faculty and for chairing Board of Examiners' meetings. They will be responsible for ensuring that the Rules of Assessment and rules relating to reassessment are applied consistently and correctly and will also be responsible for the ongoing review of the Rules of Assessment and the development and delivery of training and briefings relating to the operation of Examination Boards. Other duties include consideration of student appeals resulting from the decisions of Examination Boards and contributing to projects associated with Examination Board activities.The successful candidate will have extensive experience of academic regulations, policies and procedures within the University together with knowledge and experience of the University's policies and processes relating to assessment, progression and awards. Successful candidates will have experience of acting as a member of an Undergraduate and/or Postgraduate Examination Board. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required, as well as the ability to influence, consult and build effective working relationships with staff at all levels.The post is normally for a fixed term of 3 years and will form a 0.3FTE appointment.
