Department of Mathematical Sciences (DMS)This is an exciting opportunity to join the Department of Mathematical Sciences (DMS). The Department is a growing and vibrant department in the Faculty of Science and Health. DMS is internationally known for its research in a range of areas and offers an excellent education to its students.
The Department is looking to appoint two Professors in Statistics or Statistical Data Science to be a part of the department expansion strategy to improve its research profile in statistics and data science, and the provision of statistics and data science teaching and learning. The post is open to all areas of statistics, such as statistical learning, artificial intelligence, computational statistics, Bayesian statistics, applied statistical modelling and mathematical statistics.
The post may include teaching on our actuarial science, data science and statistics courses at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. This may include delivering statistics, data science, or actuarial science modules with existing lecture materials and developing new master level modules. It will also include supervising Statistics and Data Science master/PhD students. Successful candidates are expected to play a leading role in our curriculum and teaching portfolio development in the area of statistics or statistical data science.
To be successful you will have a distinguished academic record, including internationally excellent research, a relevant doctoral level research degree in Mathematics or Statistics or other related discipline or equivalent professional experience and evidence of teaching excellence at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels appropriate to the discipline.
