The Department of Psychology has an exciting opportunity for a Technician to join the technical services team.
The department is home to academic experts, dedicated professionals and the future of psychological research. The department is situated on the Colchester campus in modern, purpose-built accommodation. It has rapidly expanded since being founded in 1991 to become a leading centre for research and education in Psychology in the UK. We are seeking an ambitious individual who will work with colleagues within the department as well as with staff across the Faculty of Science and Health. The successful candidate will join a small team of technicians, providing technical support to staff and students.
Duties of the Role
The post-holder will contribute to the smooth running of technical services within the department and be integral to providing technical and administrative support. This will include accurate record keeping, asset management, maintenance of computer laboratories and end-user technical support.

Skills and qualifications required
You will be highly organised and possess strong administrative skills, with a methodical and logical approach to your work.
You will have a broad range of technical skills with experience of end-user support and demonstrate good problem-solving abilities. Experience will span IT support and software installation along with an ability to explain technical concepts to a variety of audiences. The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A strong willingness to learn and develop skills, knowledge, and understanding of a teaching environment is desirable.
