The Technical Assistant is responsible for the administration and management of the estates maintenance asset management and maintenance records and compliance systems, including the supervision of various service and maintenance contracts. The post holder will assist in developing a thorough system of Asset Management, and will integrate various ad-hoc systems to provide a robust electronic record management system.
The Technical Assistant will be required to monitor contractor onsite activities and carry out ad-hoc inspections, ensuring that risk assessments, method statements and compliance details are recorded, administered and updated when required. The post holder will be expected to develop a thorough understand of Health and Safety Legislation and University procurement procedures and processes.
It is essential that the successful candidate has knowledge of spreadsheet and database systems, and has previous experience in managing complex and varied computer based record management systems. A general understanding of Health and Safety legislation and asset management principles is essential, as it excellent communication and organisational skills. It would be beneficial if the post holder holds a relevant qualification in property management or maintenance, or has completed a qualification in Business Management.
Working hours are 36 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
