This is an exciting opportunity to join the Organisation Studies and HRM Group at Essex Business School. The Group has 18 research active members, comprising emerging and world-leading researchers with an international reputation in the fields of gender and work, employee relations, organisation theory, and critical management studies amongst others.
We are keen to appoint a scholar with experience in any area of Human Resource Management and/or Organisation Studies. We would, however, especially welcome applications from those with expertise in:

Duties of the Role
The purpose of this post is to enhance the School's research profile and to both contribute to, and lead in developing the fields of Human Resource Management and/or Organisation Studies in the School; to develop and actively engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision; and to extend the School's profile regionally, nationally and internationally through collaboration with other institutions.
Applicants at Lecturer level will contribute to excellence in education by designing and delivering substantive and effective teaching and learning support; supervise student projects, fieldwork and placements; produce research outputs for publication at acceptable levels of volume and academic excellence; and undertake peer mentoring of colleagues at the request of the Dean.
Applicants at Senior Lecturer or Reader level will be expected to engage in curriculum development, undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and research supervision at both an individual and a strategic level; provide research leadership and engage in activities that will enhance the research profile of the Group; and undertake a senior leadership role within the department when required.
At all levels you will be expected to engage in individual and/or collaborative research activity (resulting in internationally excellent publications) that is in keeping with REF criteria; and generate significant external research income, appropriate to career stage and subject area norms.

Skills and qualifications required
Applicants should hold a relevant doctoral level research degree (PhD) in Human Resource Management and/or Organisation Studies or related field (or be close to completion of PhD if applying for Lecturer level), or equivalent professional experience or practice.
Applicants at Lecturer level should have evidence of a research agenda, engagement in high-quality research activity and a developing research profile, and experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, or demonstrable potential for achieving this.
Applicants at Senior Lecturer or Reader level should have evidence of an established and internationally recognised research profile, with a strong track record of published academic output at international levels of recognition; a sustained record of effectiveness in education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and a record of success in generating external research income appropriate in scale to disciplinary norms and career stage.
Applicants at all levels will need to possess evidence of a clear publication plan for submission to future Research Excellence Framework (REF) programmes, have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be willing and able to play an active part in the administration of the School.
