The Institute for Analytics and Data Science (IADS)The Institute for Analytics and Data Science at the University of Essex is the pan-University Institute which brings together academics and researchers working in analytics, data science and big data from across the University. The Institute is located in the University's Science and Research Park, the Knowledge Gateway, which is an integral part of the University of Essex Colchester Campus.
We are now looking to recruit an Executive Officer and Institute Administrator. This post provides an exciting opportunity to be a key member of a team as part of this major strategic initiative within the University.
Duties of the RoleAs Executive Officer and Institute Administrator, you will be responsible for managing all administrative aspects of the IADS Institute. This includes responsibility for organising and coordinating all its internal and external-facing activities of the Institute, its communications as well as providing support to the Institute's Director. Working with the Institute Director, you will have the commitment to contribute to the development and success of the Institute.
Responsibilities will also include monitoring of income, updating the website and promoting activities via social media and collating relevant reports and analyses from government and other organisations and provide information to the Director.
Qualifications and Skills requiredThe successful candidate will hold educational qualifications to A-level standard (or equivalent) and should have experience of financial management including preparation of budgets, accounts and financial reporting as well as experience of working as an administrator in any context.
You will have excellent interpersonal, communication and management skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for coordinating key areas of activity and managing a diverse workload with competing priorities.
