We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, energetic and proactive individual to the position of Admissions International Officer (Compliance and Operations). This is an exciting opportunity to work in a varied, team-based role within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role is in the Admissions team, part of the University’s Communications and External Relations section.
Communications and External Relations brings together the main areas involved in leading the University's student recruitment as well as strategic positioning and profile. Engaging with students, staff and stakeholders we promote the University's excellence in research and education, and ensure its profile is communicated in a consistent way. We take an innovative and creative approach to our work and are at the forefront of new and best practice in communications, recruitment and marketing, engagement and customer service.
Duties of the Role
The primary focus of the team is to deliver a positive experience to applicants during the admissions process. The successful candidate will be part of the senior team responsible for the management of the Admissions team, ensuring the provision of a fair and consistent admissions service. A significant part of the role will involve responsibility for compliance with sector requirements and legislation - for example with student immigration and fee status requirements - as well as compliance with University regulations relating to the admission of students to the University. The role also involves: formal line management for 3 Admissions Advisers; drafting and updating guidance documents; advice on individual and complex cases. They will also participate in reviews of business processes and service delivery to help improve the applicant experience.
Skills and qualifications required
You will be a highly organised individual who has excellent written and oral communication skills; in addition, you will have the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritising effectively in order to meet deadlines whilst giving close attention to detail. You will also have an ability to acquire knowledge and understanding of detailed and complex policies and procedures, and be able to interpret and apply them accurately. You should also hold a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent qualification or experience.
Although experience and knowledge of admissions in the HE sector would be an advantage, it is not an essential requirement as full training and induction will be provided.
