The Department of Government at Essex are world leaders in political science, committed to excellence in education and research.
The Department wishes to recruit a fixed-term Lecturer (education-focused) for the remainder of the 22/23 academic year, on a part-time basis (up to 0.6 FTE) to deliver a number of modules in the areas of Conflict and Quantitative Methods

Duties of the Role
The post-holder is expected to conduct teaching in one or more of the following areas: conflict and quantitative methods. They will supervise undergraduate projects and postgraduate taught dissertations as needed. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to excellence in education by designing and delivering substantive and effective teaching and learning support as agreed with the Head of Department.
Skills and qualifications required
Applicants will hold a relevant doctoral level degree in Political Science or allied field (or be close to completion of PhD) or possess equivalent professional experience or practice. Applicants will be required to have proven experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels as well experience of supervising student projects and dissertations, and the ability to deliver modules in Conflict and Quantitative Methods.
