Duties of the Role
The Education Officer forms part of a team of professional services staff led by the Department Manager. The post-holder will work closely with the Director of Education to support key projects and initiatives to review and enhance learning and teaching approaches within the Department. The Education Officer will also be responsible for the accuracy of the Department's course and module records, including maintaining accurate records of new course and module approvals, and overseeing the review and update of existing courses and modules via the annual update process. They will support the Department's academic standards and quality function.
Skills and qualifications required
The successful candidate will have an understanding of the support required for academic staff to deliver an outstanding student experience. You will have excellent administrative and organisational skills and have experience of dealing flexibly with a wide range of responsibilities and multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. You will have excellent knowledge of IT systems and databases, particularly those supporting academic staff.
With an ability to engage with students and to work effectively with academic and administrative colleagues, you will possess excellent communication skills, including a high standard of written English. Your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to establish productive working relationships with a wide range of people, deliver effective and authoritative advice and work as part of a team.
Applicants should possess a good standard of education or relevant equivalent experience.
