The School of Health & Social Care is seeking to appoint a number of Graduate Teaching Assistants for the academic year 2018 2019 and are inviting applications for GTA work on the following modules/to assist with teaching on various modules which may include:
Purpose of the role and responsibilities:
The Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTAs) post will contribute to the Department's teaching programme by providing teaching and tuition to help students meet their learning outcomes.
GTAs assist academic staff in the Department by performing teaching or teaching related duties normally using existing teaching materials.
Graduate Teaching Assistants will receive close supervision and direction including regular feedback, pastoral support and guidance. The Module Supervisor will give full background on the module and clear direction on the content to be taught and the preparation necessary, and will undertake assessment of teaching. If marking is to be undertaken, it should be in line with the University's Marking Policy and under the guidance of the Module Supervisor.

The total number of hours per week are determined by the number of classes undertaken by each Graduate Teaching Assistant.
For some modules where marking is indicated as part of the GTAs duties, there may be potential for additional hours to undertake marking depending on student numbers.
