Job description
Research and Enterprise Office (REO)
The Knowledge Exchange Officer will be based within the Research and Enterprise Office (REO) at the University of Essex, to work on an externally funded project. EIRA (Enabling Innovation: Research to Application) is a three year project to build knowledge exchange connections across eastern England, using innovation
to improve business productivity. EIRA is funded by Research England, and the programme is led from the University of Essex's Research & Enterprise Office (REO) and will be delivered over a three-year period (April 2018 - March 2021) in collaboration with the Universities of Kent and East Anglia and four other partners in the region.
Duties of the Role
The post holder will support our EIRA Knowledge Exchange Managers in developing relationships with business to provide innovation based on our research strengths. They will be involved in conducting market intelligence, profiling companies, providing financial assistance with project set up, and project coordination.
Skills and qualifications required
The successful applicant will have an understanding of the University research environment and/or commercial R&D. They will have a keen interest to work at the forefront of knowledge exchange, an ability to work independently and as part of a team. Educated to graduate level (or equivalent experience), the postholder will have strong communication skills, a high level of integrity, be self-motivated and able to work to competing deadlines.
