The Department of Sociology at the University of Essex is one of Europe's leading Sociology Departments and is ranked 27 in the World in the latest QS Rankings. It has been in the top ten for all the national Research Assessment Exercises since 1986.
We wish to appoint a Lecturer in Social Psychology and Sociology who will contribute to the internationally excellent research and teaching carried out in the department. Applicants should have a PhD in Sociology or an allied field, together with a strong record of teaching and research excellence.
The post holder will be expected to teach our core social psychology undergraduate module as well as substantive topics in his or her area of specialism. The role will also involve the supervision of undergraduate, Masters and PhD dissertations as well as contributing to the general administration of the Department. The post holder will be expected to carry out high quality research in his or her area of specialism. We encourage applications from early career researchers.
