New academic staff are supported to become fellows of the Higher Education Authority and we champion research-led education, where teaching is informed by research and students develop research skills.Duties of the RoleThe Deputy School Manager will support the School Manager with all aspects of school, course and student administration, and deputise for them in their absence. You will have specific responsibility for the School's Education Team which leads on the student services function, and will be responsible for managing and developing a high-quality and efficient student administration team. The role will shape the student services delivery model for the School, and will drive a culture of excellence in service delivery, sharing of best practice, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with the School Manager and key leadership roles within the School, the Faculty, and central professional services sections, and as such will contribute to ensuring effective communication and engagementSome of the responsibilities will include managing the delivery of a high quality service to students, providing direct and hands-on support to the Education Team, managing the preparation of exam papers, assisting in the planning of future teaching and managing complex student casework matters.Qualifications and Skills requiredThe successful candidate will hold an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification or experience and will have extensive administrative experience, experience of managing staff and experience in the development and implementation of policies and/ procedures.You will have excellent organisational and administrative skills and excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills, along with demonstrable ability to build, lead and motivate teams and to deal with multiple priorities whilst working under pressure.
