Estates and Campus Services require a motivated individual to join a team committed to delivering a quality; customer focused cleaning service at the University’s Loughton campus.
Duties of the role
As part of your position as Domestic Services Assistant, you will be responsible for cleaning and preparation of various areas in the academic and associated buildings, and provide cleaning cover across all University buildings including the residential buildings as and when required by management.
In response of the current Covid-19 pandemic, extra safety measures have been implemented to ensure we are protecting our staff, students and wider community. If successful, you will complete a mandatory health declaration and a risk assessment before starting work. You will also be required to adhere to wearing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment, as guided by your line manager.
Working Patterns Available
10 hours per week, current working pattern Monday to Friday 7am – 9am
12.5 hours per week, current working pattern Monday to Friday 5.30am – 8am
12.5 hours per week, current working pattern Monday to Friday 5am – 7:30am
15 hours per week, current working pattern Monday to Friday 5am – 8am
20 hours per week, current working pattern Monday to Friday 10am – 2pm
In the interests of working efficiency the University may from time to time review current working patterns. Hours may be required to be worked within the operational window of 4am to 6pm, 5 days out of 7 days. Changes to working patterns resulting from this will be subject to a minimum of 21 calendar days' notice.
Skills and qualifications
You must have the ability to undertake domestic cleaning to a high standard with good communication skills, a positive attitude to delivering good customer service and a flexible approach to work. You will have an understanding of any Health and Safety information and guidance, in order to carry out the safe use of chemical and equipment, however this is not essential as training will be provided.
