The Project
This new post will play a key role in delivering a new University-wide project “Accelerating Innovation at the Knowledge Gateway”.
This is an exciting two-year project which will increase regional business creation and growth in the digital creative sector. This will be achieved through increased and more innovative university-business collaborations facilitated by funding accelerated digital innovations at the University of Essex Knowledge Gateway (a 43-acre research and technology park at our Colchester Campus). This project will enable us to increase the level and impact of the interaction between the digital creative community and the University through enhancing the impact of our digital creative collaborative studio (Space to Grow); establishing a community of investors and support for new business (angels@essex); and new digital collaboration infrastructure to enable collaborations anywhere on campus (work anywhere wifi).
Duties of the Role
The post-holder will provide ongoing support and coordination for the development and management of the Space to Grow and angels@essex activities within the ‘Accelerating Innovation at the Knowledge Gateway’ project.
Skills and qualifications required
We are looking for an ambitious, organised and highly motivated individual to join our project team. You will be professional and confident in dealing with a range of internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be educated to A-level or equivalent standard, with previous experience in a project based support role, ideally in a business-facing environment. Willingness to travel to meetings outside of the university will also be required.
This post is being advertised as a fixed-term internal secondment opportunity until 30 July 2021. More information can be found within the job pack.
