The key strategic challenges to be addressed relate to considerable internal and external change for example: an increasingly competitive and global job market in a changing Higher Education sector, changes to the UK immigration system, developments in employment legislation and changes in staff expectation in respect of work/life balance.The RoleThe HR Assistant Team Leader will lead the HR administration team, comprising of four HR Assistants, covering a wide variety of transactional HR issues across the full employee lifecycle. You will be a key driver for the HR team and inspire to enhance performance and make appropriate changes to drive performance and effective processes.The PersonYou will be professional in your approach and will lead by example as well as being motivated and a positive influence within the HR function. You should enjoy working in a busy role supporting multi-site employees and customers. Chartered/Associate membership of the CIPD or equivalent experience is also essential in addition to excellent knowledge and practical application of employment legislation and HR practices.What we can offerThe University of Essex employs approximately 2,500 staff, from 64 different countries.
