We work in partnership with people from all walks of life, who offer us their expertise and experience, making us a team of people who truly understand what is needed from health and social care professionals and services- now and in the future.Duties of the RoleFor the ASE Grade 8 role, duties will include engaging effectively in substantive teaching and learning support roles in the Department, and develop a broad understanding of how such activities support student learning as well as to gain Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy within their probationary period (usually 3 years).For the ASER Grade 9 role candidates are expected to develop a research agenda which pursues individual and/or collaborative research objectives and proposals of high quality that will as a minimum meet the University's expectations for future Research Framework (REF) exercises as well as to contribute to excellence in education by designing and delivering substantive and effective teaching and learning support, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (e.g. curriculum development and review, assessment and feedback, research supervision etc.) as agreed with the Dean of School/ Head of Group for Nursing and Health Studies. Skills and qualifications requiredWe would particularly welcome applications from individuals that are keen to develop research, drawing from, and building upon, existing research expertise within the school. Applicants should have a strong commitment to team working and to enhancing the contribution of research and education to Mental Health Nursing.For the ASE Grade 8 role we would expect the candidate to hold a relevant doctoral degree in Nursing or equivalent professional experience or practice. Candidates should also have Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or the ability to gain professional recognition at this or a higher level if appropriate plus current registration with the NMC for Nursing, with a clear record to practice.It is essential that candidates also have a commitment to uphold the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct and to exhibit professional behaviors and attitudes in keeping with the Code and NHS values.For the ASER Grade 9 role candidates would be expected to be actively engaged in research, have a doctoral level research degree in Non-medical prescribing or equivalent professional experience or practice or be close to completion of PhD and evidence a clear publication plan for submission to future Research Excellence Framework (REF) programmes.Please note if applying for the Grade 8 ASE Lecturer role, you will not need to complete the research statement (d) or the three year plan (e) for generating funding as detailed on the front cover of the recruitment pack.This post can be considered as an external secondment or be offered on a job-share basis.
