School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences (SRES) The School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences was created in August 2017 bringing together sport and exercise sciences, physiotherapy, sports therapy and related activity. This presents exciting opportunities for new interdisciplinary collaborations and partnership working with external agencies including a range of health practitioners.
We are seeking to appoint a part-time lecturer in musculoskeletal physiotherapy with extensive clinical experience. The postgraduate musculoskeletal pathways include modules aimed at specialist clinicians who are keen to extend their scope of practice with specific skills e.g. injection therapy and diagnostic ultrasound imaging. Students are likely to be working in or working towards roles such as Advanced Clinical Practitioner or First Contact Practitioner. This lecturer role requires highly developed clinical reasoning and differential diagnostic skills that can be applied in primary and secondary care.
Duties of the Role
The post-holder will contribute to the excellence in education by designing and delivering teaching and providing learning support, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (e.g. curriculum development and review, assessment and feedback, research supervision, etc.) as agreed with the HoD.
Duties will include engaging effectively in substantive teaching and learning support roles in the Department, and develop a broad understanding of how such activities support student learning.

Qualifications and Skills required
The successful candidate will hold a relevant doctoral level research degree in physiotherapy or have equivalent professional experience or practice or be close to completion of a PhD and will be registered as a healthcare professional with the Health and Care Professions Council.
Experience of designing and planning learning activities, developing effective learning environments and approaches to student/client support and guidance; demonstrable experience in a variety of clinical settings and specialities and strong communication skills, both written and verbal are all essential for this post.
