Frontline Services Supervisor, Library Services
Job description
Department
Library Services at the University of Essex provides high-quality study environments, resources and professional support towards the University’s mission of excellence in education and research. The Frontline Services team is the face of the Library, and is responsible for providing excellent customer service, with the goal of enabling
our students to become successful independent learners.
Duties of the Role
We are seeking a Frontline Services Supervisor to join our Frontline Services team in Colchester.
Our Frontline Services team offer support and advice to users in accessing library resources, self-service and study facilities, as well as helping to maintain a positive environment for learning within the Library building.
The successful candidate will supervise the library enquiry service, study environment and team of Frontline staff on Friday evenings and during Saturdays and Sundays. In doing so, they will engage with a diverse range of users, proactively offering assistance throughout the Library building and ensuring excellent service levels throughout.
This is a part-time post working 29 hours per week, 4 days per week. Please see attached jobpack for full details.
Skills and qualifications required
Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to first class customer service, as well as experience of staff and service supervision. They will have excellent interpersonal, team working and digital skills, and should be able to organise and motivate other members of the team.
