Library ServicesLibrary Services at the University of Essex provides high quality, user-focused services to support the learning, teaching and research needs of the university.We are currently seeking a Digital Systems & Services Assistant to play a key role in the administration and support of the library digital systems, services and IT.
Duties of the postThe successful candidate will be expected to support the day to day administration of library systems and services, assist in the development, management and administration of the library intranet and website, and assist with the provision of a seamless service for members of the University community with regards to the integration of our e-resources, discovery layer (Library search) and other services.
Additionally the role holder will be required to undertake regular evening and weekend duties supervising small teams of library staff providing frontline support to users.
Qualifications and skills requiredApplicants should demonstrate good organisational, communication and IT skills, the ability to work with a high level of attention to detail, and an understanding of and commitment to providing excellent customer service. You will be educated to A level standard (or equivalent), including Maths and English to GCSE standard (or equivalent) at grades A-C.
