The School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering (CSEE) is a large and vibrant department in the Faculty of Science and Health. CSEE is internationally known for its research in a range of areas, and offers an excellent education to its students. The School is expanding, due to increasing student numbers and now wishes to appoint additional lecturers to help us grow.We wish to enhance the School's existing research in the areas of computer science and electronic engineering related to Internet of Things and Cyber Security as well as open up and develop new research activities that will become recognized as outstanding and internationally leading. The post will include teaching on our courses at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. This may include delivering existing modules, developing new modules and generally enhancing our research-led teaching. We aim for excellence in education as well as in research and are looking for candidates who can contribute to both. The duties of this post include engaging in substantive teaching and learning support roles in the School, and develop a broad understanding of how such activities make key contributions to high-quality student learning. The role also includes designing, planning and delivering learning activities and programmes of study. The duties also include developing a research agenda which actively pursues individual and/or collaborative research objectives and proposals of high quality that will meet the Research Framework (REF) exercises and to build and develop internal and external networks and establish links with relevant academic and professional bodies, contacts and employers.The successful candidate will be expected to deliver excellent research and teaching, generate research income, to contribute to the administration and management of the School, and to the local, regional and international profile of the Department. Applicants must hold a PhD in Computer Science/ Electronic Engineering or related discipline; or the expectation of a PhD qualification prior to the start of the appointment.The successful candidate must also hold a degree in Computer Science/ Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
