The School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering (CSEE) is a large and vibrant department in the Faculty of Science and Health. The REF ranked CSEE 6th in the UK for Computer Science research power and 100% of its research impact was rated world-leading or internationally excellent. CSEE is internationally known for its research in a range of areas and offers a broad range of degree courses to its students.
Duties of the Role
The Education Manager is an integral role within the School, working closely with the Directors of Education to support and enhance the student experience with a focus on continual improvement. The Education Manager leads on key projects and initiatives such as oversight of student engagement monitoring procedures, designing and implementing student engagement initiatives, supporting the organisation of Education Away days to review and develop learning and teaching approaches, student survey promotion, contributing to the development of the School’s NSS action plan, and leading on projects to improve student satisfaction in light of student feedback.
The Education Manager also supports the School’s academic standards and quality function, providing operational leadership and management for international academic partnerships run within the School, including line management of the Academic Partnerships Officer.
Skills and qualifications required
Applicants will be expected to have a degree or equivalent professional experience. You will have significant and relevant recent administrative experience in a complex and challenging role, including developing and implementing administrative policies and procedures. This is a student focussed role requiring interaction with students via a range of methods, so you must be a confident and empathetic communicator.
