The Academic Section is a large professional services area focused on adding value to the University's mission of excellence in education and excellence in research. Within this section, Student Support is central to the student experience and we are looking for a professional and effective Administrator to join our International Services team.
The International Services Team works with departments and services across the institution to maintain the University's compliance with its responsibilities to the Home Office under Tier 4 of the Points Based Immigration System. We also deliver high quality services to students requiring information and supporting documentation for visa applications. The successful candidate will be one of two Compliance Administrators who work together as the first point of contact for enquiries and deliver administrative processes for students and staff.
You will demonstrate effective interpersonal and administrative skills, including arranging, and taking minutes at, a range of Tier 4 related meetings. You will be able to establish positive rapport with colleagues and students, to think creatively and to work accurately and with attention to detail, including when under pressure. You will be flexible in your approach and will use your 'can do' attitude to best effect when working as a member of a busy team. Education to A-level standard (or equivalent) is essential.
At the University of Essex internationalism is central to who we are and what we do. We are committed to being a cosmopolitan, internationally-oriented university that is welcoming to staff and students from all countries and a university where you can find the world in one place.
