DepartmentThe School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering (CSEE) is a large and vibrant department in the Faculty of Science and Health. CSEE is internationally known for its research in a range of areas, and offers an excellent education to its students. The School has over 1200 students studying at undergraduate and postgraduate level supported by over 100 academic, research and support staff. We are now seeking a friendly and professional individual to join our team.Duties of the RoleAs part of our Professional Services Team, the post-holder will be based in our busy School Office and provide dedicated administrative support for postgraduate taught (PGT) students. This will include support for the management of coursework and coursework re-assessment, assisting with result processing and examination boards, approving module selections, managing student records using dedicated systems, and providing front-line support and guidance to students and staff teaching on postgraduate courses.In addition the role holder will co-ordinate the management of all postgraduate admissions enquiries (both PGT and PGR) within the School, ensuring that applications are managed and responded to in a timely way through the online application system, and acting as a key point of contact between the University's central admissions team and the School. As part of this, you will also work closely with the PGR Administrator to co-ordinate the administration of all PhD Studentship opportunities.Skills and qualifications requiredThe successful candidate will be educated to A-Level standard or equivalent. You should have administrative experience in a busy, customer-orientated environment ideally gained in an education setting. You will require excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly with people from a range of backgrounds via email, in person and over the phone. As part of this role you will be required to manage and input large volumes of data in various systems, so a good level of IT literacy and the able to work accurately are essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
