We are looking to appoint an efficient and professional individual to fulfil the role of Essex Abroad Officer (Grants & Agreements). As a permanent post, this role presents an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking to begin a career in higher education administration.
Working as in integral part of the Essex Abroad team, the Essex Abroad Officer (Grants & Agreements) plays a key role in the administration of a variety of funding schemes to support student and staff participating in Essex Abroad's international exchanges and placements programmes. Additionally, the successful candidate will be tasked with supporting study abroad and exchange partnership management, particularly the coordination of bilateral agreement processes. The role involves working with offices across the University to provide project co-ordination for all operational aspects of partnerships including student and academic records, systems and student services.
The successful candidate will have excellent administrative and organisational skills, be able to deal flexibly with a wide range of responsibilities, and be able to relate well to a wide range of people, including international students and visitors. Applicants should possess an honours degree or equivalent recent experience in a relevant administrative environment. You will need to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high standards. You will possess excellent communication, negotiation, organisational skills and initiative to ensure that the most efficient and effective systems are in place to support achieving the internationalisation strategy. The ability to work independently and as part of a team and to remain calm under pressure are essential. Experience studying or living abroad and proficiency in a language other than English would be an advantage.
