School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering (CSEE)The School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering (CSEE) is a large and vibrant department in the Faculty of Science and Health. CSEE is internationally known for its research in a range of areas, and offers an excellent education to its students. The School has over 1200 students studying at undergraduate and postgraduate level supported by over 100 academic, research and support staff. The School has grown significantly over the past three years with an increase in student numbers and the introduction of specialist provision including degree apprenticeships and a new international partnership, with further growth expected in this area. We are now seeking to appoint an Education Manager to provide additional senior level support within the School's professional services team. This is a new role within the School.Duties of the RoleThe Education Manager will be responsible for supporting the School's academic standards and quality function, with a focus on providing operational leadership and management for specialist provision including degree apprenticeships and international partnerships. This will include the line management of relevant staff. As the School's administrative lead in this area, you will be expected to develop and maintain key knowledge related to all areas of specialist provision, updating the School Manager and Head of School on key developments in these areas. You will also be expected to develop and implement policies and procedures in relation to the effective operation of all specialist courses.In addition, the post-holder will work closely with the Director of Education to support key projects and initiatives to review and enhance learning and teaching approaches within the School across all provision, and to promote student engagement and support, with a focus on enhancing the student experience and improving student satisfaction. The Education Manager will also be responsible for the accuracy of the School's course and module records, including maintaining accurate records of new course and module approvals, and overseeing the review and update of existing courses and modules via the annual update process. Skills and qualifications requiredThe successful candidate will be expected to hold a first degree or equivalent qualification or professional experience and will have significant and relevant recent administrative experience in a complex and challenging role, including developing and implementing administrative policies and procedures. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships and a good level of IT literacy are essential for this post.
